We do this to ensure that in Maryland, we leave no one behind.This is a full-time contractual position.GRADE11LOCATION OF POSITIONMaryland Department of Human ServicesCalvert County Department of Social Services200 Duke StreetPrince Frederick, MD 20678Main Purpose of JobTo perform procurement duties in accordance with State of Maryland regulations and DHS policy to ensure cost effective and efficient delivery of services, equipment and supplies to external and internal customers. The position provides administrative support to the program Assistant Directors within the agency and personnel support to the entire staff.POSITION DUTIESP erforms daily activities within the Finance Office to procure supplies, materials, services and equipment for entire agency. Prepares contracts, MOUs, Interagency and Intergovernmental agreements as necessary. Prepares FMIS requisitions and purchase orders for all contract and bid proposal items.Prepares expenditure log for Corporate Purchase Card purchases on a monthly basis. Maintains well organized purchase order and contract records by fiscal year and vendor. Assists Finance Officer and other LGA staff in day-to-day operations including other duties as assigned.Perform all Asset Management responsibilities such as ordering and tagging of assets over $100 value. Prepare and manage Assistant Management of furniture and equipment disposal.Upon receipt of travel information form from program staff, arrange hotel, airfare, conference and other arrangements as necessary to facilitate travel and attendance at events.Assist with shelter management during - Emergency Operation.Minimum QualificationsEducation: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.Experience: One year of experience in receiving, storing, issuing, purchasing and requisitioning supplies, materials and equipment.Notes: Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours of education at an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience.Desired Or Preferred QualificationsPreference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.One year experience using Computer Software such as Google Application and Microsoft SuitesOne year experience with procurementOne year experience with FMIS, ADPICS, R*STARS or similar accounting systemLICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONSEmployees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Successful candidates will be placed on the eligible (employment) list for at least one year .BenefitsContractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period.
