With a staff of 65, the office audits state agencies; evaluates state-funded programs; and conducts special reviews and investigations related to alleged misuse of state resources, alleged noncompliance with state laws, or legislative requests.Job SummaryThe Office of the Legislative Auditor (OLA) is seeking an exceptional individual to serve as the lead editor for written communications and support OLA in producing high-quality written reports.This position serves as OLA’s lead editor for written communications and supports OLA in producing high-quality written reports. Duties include but are not limited to the following:• Edit, format, and publish audit reports, letters, requests for information, and other written communication.• Ensure OLA’s written products and materials comply with relevant accessibility requirements.• Create and maintain a comprehensive social media strategy.• Maintain the OLA Writing Manual, conduct training on writing and other forms of communication.QualificationsMinimum QualificationsTo be considered, a candidate must submit a cover letter and must have:• A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Public Relations, or related degree.• Excellent writing and editing skills.• Proficiency in using multimedia tools and platforms to create engaging communication materials such as videos, presentations, and interactive content.• A demonstrated ability to maintain good working relationships with a diversity of individuals, including staff, elected officials, and the public.• A demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Preferred Qualifications• Knowledge of Minnesota state government and the legislative process.• Experience with Minnesota’s accessibility standards (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (WCAG 2.0)). Experience using CommonLook PDF is a plus.• Experience with basic HTML tagging and webpage markup and design.• A demonstrated ability to handle confidential and not-public information.Additional Requirements• Cover letters and resumes will be reviewed to identify applicants meeting minimum and preferred requirements.
