Description of WorkThis is an anticipated vacancy.This position qualifies for teleworking on a part-time basis as part of a State Teleworking Program. Any telework will be under the conditions of the State Teleworking Program Policy, and the employer may end any teleworking arrangement at any time at the employer's sole discretion.Note to Current State Employees:The salary grade for this position is NC12. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.About the Grants Manager Position:The Grants Manager is responsible for the management and payments of disaster recovery assistance to eligible subgrantees. The selected candidate is also responsible for reviewing contracts, invoices and labor/equipment records to submit for payment of the grants, as well as, ensuring that projects are completed and closed in accordance with all federal and state regulations, the Stafford Act, and the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000. The Grants Manager will coordinate with FEMA on a daily basis to resolve issues. During the Disaster Recovery phase, the position assumes key deployment responsibilities in coordinating the field recovery efforts and working with FEMA staff for project formulation.About North Carolina Emergency Management:The mission of North Carolina Emergency Management (NCEM) is to enhance the State of North Carolina's resiliency levels by fostering active collaboration, communication, and coordination between local, state, and federal stakeholders, as well as maintaining meaningful relationships and providing services for private citizens and commercial entities.
