If you possess experience handling a high volume of customer service or working with individuals to gather information, and are proficient in the Vietnamese language, consider taking on a key role within our team as the (Bilingual-Vietnamese, Support Specialist, Oregon Eligibility Partnership, Virtual Eligibility Center) for the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS).ABOUT Oregon Eligibility PartnershipThe Oregon Eligibility Partnership is the dedicated program for ensuring coordinated responsibility to ensure timely eligibility benefits for people who live in Oregon seeking supports related to health, food security, employment, and cash benefits. The intent of this program is to shift Oregon from a programmatically siloed state to an eligibility process that moves beyond integration and equality, to focus on equity of services and providing timely, accurate, and necessary eligibility determination's, referring individuals who are denied or approved to the appropriate ongoing services in a more person-centered way. The primary focus of this program is making eligibility determinations for medical programs, SNAP, TANF, and ERDC while following the principles of Oregonian focused, Customer Service, Equity and Inclusion, Standardization, and Efficiency. Ultimately the goal of this Program will be to work with the consumers and stakeholders to evolve. our eligibility program, allowing standardization along with local control to meet the needs of individuals in their communities, focused on a generative approach where multi-generation, socioeconomic, and social determinants of health are addressed in providing information and solutions, and data to organizations focused on outcomes set with individuals.Summary of DutiesIn this role you will aid individuals and families seeking services by phone or email providing specialized assistance on behalf of program staff, assist to guide customers through the rules, policies, procedures, and programs, and provide support to management and staff related to the organizations business operations. Duties include:• Responsible for incoming and outgoing calls in a call center phone system.• Responsible for electronic filing.• Process administrative tasks in the One System related to cases.• Explains rules, regulations, procedures, and responsibilities.• Refers applicants to other Federal, State, or county programs or community resources.• Complete initial computer screening to determine prior case history or current eligibility.• Screen potential clients for all ODHS programs and provide applicants with procedural to apply for said programs.Minimum Qualifications• Two years of experience either interviewing to obtain personal or technical information or substantial people contact.• This experience must have involved a high volume of paperwork (e.g., assuring information on forms is complete and accurate, completing necessary documents, etc.).• College-level courses may be substituted for the experience on a year-for-year basis.Essential AttributesTeam-Oriented: Ability to work well and thrive in a team environment.Managing high volume of work: Ability to complete tasks, duties, projects, and obligations with deadlines, that produce high-quality results.Accuracy and Attention to detail: Ensuring you have a complete understanding of the task you're working on.Customer Focus: Ability to professionally interact with a high volume of diverse customers communicating benefits or services that exceeds the customers' expectations.Communication: Communication/listening skills in order to interpret and develop the ideas/needs of participants and visualize the best approach to achieve the desired outcome.Diversity: Experience promoting a culturally competent and diverse work environment.Office Technology Knowledge: Proficient with multiple computer systems and programs to pride case data to clients, and demonstratable experience in MS applications including Outlook and Microsoft Teams.Working conditions• This position is eligible for remote work, with Hybrid option.• Public interaction, particularly with customers in stressful situations.• Employees in these roles may need to adhere to a flexible work schedule, with varying hours that may include evenings and weekends. Specifics of the work schedule will be established by the hiring manager.• The office consists of cubicles, which may lead to frequent interruptions and occasionally high noise levels.• Repetitive movements, extended periods of sitting, and frequent use of computers and technology characterize the work.• Significant amount of typing on computer keyboarding.Background Checks and Requirements• If selected as a finalist, we will conduct a criminal history and background check. ODHS will use E-Verify to confirm that you are authorized to work in the United States.• This position is bilingual and requires duties to be done in both English and Vietnamese. Job offer will be contingent upon passing test(s) evaluating your proficiency in the bilingual requirements of the position. Bilingual differential pay is provided to positions that require to use a language other than English to fulfill their job duties within their position.
