DSHS Lakeland Village Telephone Switchboard OperatorWe're seeking PBX Telephone / Switchboard Operator to join our team at Lakeland Village in Medical Lake, WA.We have a variety of roles that are responsible for supporting and performing a variety of duties within the unit; answering phone calls/transferring calls, filing, mailing, sorting, distributing incoming and outgoing mail, archiving, scanning documents, data entry, monitoring fire panels/emergency alarms, and assisting customers. In addition, you will act as a receptionist to all visitors and community members, and ensure escorts are arranged as needed.We need individuals with great customer service skills and the ability to think and act quickly during times of crisis. Confidentiality and compassion go hand in hand with this job. Join us in Transforming Lives!Evening and Night shifts include a shift differential in addition to the standard compensation rate. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.Some of what you will do:• Operate a multi-line phone console• Monitor campus-wide multi-panel fire alarm and fire suppression system• Engage in customer service and public relations for callers, visitors, employees, and clients• Operate computer-based, alpha-numeric paging system• Contact maintenance for minor repairs to the facility• Disseminate all emergency calls related to medical, behavior, fire, and disaster• Monitor and check out keys, cell phones, and all badges to appropriate personnel• Contact appropriate personnel during emergenciesAdditional skills, knowledge, and experience we are looking for:• Self-motivation and collaboration• Enjoyment in assisting others• Friendly and helpful attitude• Ability to multitask effectively• Skill in handling fluctuating workloads• Prioritizing tasks as needed• Comfortable interacting with internal staff and external entities• Adaptability to changing business needs• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality• Accountability for the quality and timeliness of work• Ability to meet or exceed predetermined goals and objectives with minimal oversightWho should apply?Professionals who have at least one year of experience as a receptionist, switchboard operator, radio communications operator, or experience performing clerical office work that required direct contact with the public AND graduated high school or GED equivalency.Our Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) mission to Transform Lives requires that we come together with a sense of belonging, common purpose, shared values, and meaningful work.
