Assistant Attorney General - Antitrust

**Overview:**The Public Protection Unit is seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Attorney General to join its Antitrust Section. As a member of the Antitrust Section, the Assistant Attorney General will be responsible for investigating potential violations of antitrust and consumer protection laws and regulations, analyzing complex economic and legal issues, and representing the government in antitrust litigation. **Responsibilities:**• Investigating potential violations of antitrust and consumer protection laws and regulations• Analyzing complex economic and legal issues related to antitrust matters• Collaborating with other government agencies, including the Federal Trade Commission, the United States Department of Justice, and other State Attorneys General Offices on antitrust enforcement efforts• Representing the government in antitrust litigation• Providing legal advice and guidance to senior officials on antitrust policy matters• *Qualifications:**• Education, training, and/or experience in preparing and drafting complaints, pleadings, motions, and briefs• Experience conducting party, 3rd party, and expert discovery• Experience handling motion hearings or other court proceedings, including preparing witness testimony for evidentiary hearings• Experience negotiating with opposing counsel• Minimally qualified applicants must have education, training and/or experience in the above-mentioned areas• A well-qualified applicant will have education, training, and/or experience in complex civil litigation, investigating and building cases for civil law enforcement actions or criminal prosecutions, and educational background and/or experience in economics or data science• Must be a member in good standing with the Wisconsin State Bar upon appointment• *Benefits:**The Assistant Attorney General position is in pay schedule 09 and pay range 75, with a starting pay between $83,200 - $136,780 annually. The position may be eligible to work remotely up to 40% as part of a hybrid schedule, following an initial training period. High speed internet access is required to meet the needs of remote work. The Department of Justice does not sponsor work visas at the time of hire or anytime during employment
