Global Head of Executive Search and Sourcing, Managing Director

The Global Head of Executive Search and Sourcing will ensure that our talent acquisition sourcing and pipeline strategy for executive hiring aligns to State Street’s strategic talent priorities while maintaining the highest standards of client centricity and risk excellence. The Global Head of Executive Search & Sourcing will play a pivotal role in supporting executive level hiring and sourcing for State Street Corporation. This critical role is responsible for developing a sourcing and pipeline framework to enable the acquisition of high performing talent that supports our mission and enables our growth.

Reporting to the Global Head of Talent Acquisition, this role is a key member of the TA leadership team and partners closely with the Global Human Resources leadership team members and other key business leaders. 

Why this role is important to us.

You will be joining the Talent Acquisition leadership team within the Global Human Resources Organization. This role will enable the Talent Acquisition function to deliver a holistic approach for sourcing and pipeline development focused on executive level hiring. This role will also partner closely with our Executive Development team, our CHRO, CEO and State Street’s Executive Committee to ensure that we fully leverage our executive development processes such as executive succession to build our internal pipeline to fill executive roles in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:  Develop and implement executive hiring sourcing and pipeline strategy aligned with the company’s overall business hiring objectives. Identify market trends and competitive intelligence to enhance our executive hiring demands and ensure we attract and retain the best talent possessing key skills and experience needed for the future.
  • Executive Search Recruiting: Own and deliver on a select number of high-profile Executive Searches within the organization.
  • Executive Sourcing Framework:  Design and implement an executive sourcing approach to ensure consistency across our sourcing efforts for leadership talent.
  • Talent Pipeline Development:  Design and implement industry leading competitive talent intelligence, market mapping process and procedures to enable hiring of executive roles in various market segments by talent acquisition leadership
  • Client-Centric: Foster a culture of exceptional service delivery within the talent acquisition team. Develop sourcing and pipeline framework designed to be responsive to the needs of the business and to deliver exceptional to improve the client experience.
  • Candidate Experience: Define and create a process flow to maximize executive candidate experience of State Street. Create materials to support recruiters managing executive search/leadership hiring processes.  
  • Internal Mobility: Partner with the Global Head of Internal Mobility for internal only executive searches.  
  • Inclusion, Diversity & Equity:  Drive initiatives that promote diversity, inclusion, and equity within the workforce, ensuring that State Street reflects clients and communities we serve.
  • Strategic Partnerships:   Oversee external partnerships with search firms and monitor/measure the usage of agency spend vs direct search capabilities with a goal to reduce agency spend
  • Employer Brand:  Champion State Street’s employer brand to attract top talent globally, leveraging innovative recruitment marketing strategies and tools.
  • Risk Excellence:  implement best practices in risk management throughout the executive hiring process, ensuring compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience with full life cycle recruiting, including extensive experience within Executive Search (ideally Search Firm combined with inhouse experience)
  • Extensive experience with creating a strategic framework for sourcing and pipeline development for Executive level hiring across market segments and disciplines.
  • Experience executing pipeline and sourcing strategies involving a proactive approach to identify and acquire the best talent.
  • Strong project management experience with ability to manage complex assignments and multiple searches while delivering the highest level of client service
  • Experience handling sensitive/confidential information
  • Cultivates strong relationships with senior leadership and key stakeholders to build trust, influence and drive alignment on talent acquisition strategies and initiatives.
  • Communicates effectively with stakeholders at all levels, fostering strong partnerships to enhance collaboration on talent acquisition initiatives.
  • Champions diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the recruitment process, ensuring a diverse candidate pipeline and equitable hiring practices.
  • Role model State Street’s culture traits: choose to own it, break through silos, deliver results with integrity and speed, do better every day, care for colleagues, clients, and community.  
  • Experience in leading and managing vendor negotiation, vendor management, and project management.
  • Experience with talent acquisition technology and candidate management systems.
  • Comfortable working through gray/ambiguous areas.

Salary Range:

$170,000 - $267,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
