Framatome is seeking a Strategic Business Development Manager for our Old Forest Road office in Lynchburg, Virginia. Under broad supervision, responsible for the strategic business planning and development process for Framatome US Government Solutions LLC (FUSGS) products and services. Leads the implementation of Commercial Excellence standards that define customer (US Government and USG funded organizations) engagement and marketing strategies. Position has lead responsibility for developing strategic market and customer direction, and understanding customers’ expectations and advocating Framatome solutions to improve customer performance. Establish and maintain favorable relationships with customer personnel and responsible for identifying, qualifying and closing opportunities to meet FUSGS order intake objectives.


Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs analyses and prepares forecasts and recommendations in the areas of product preferences, sales coverage, market penetration, market practices and sales trends.
  • Develop strategic plans identifying new business and market opportunities
  • Create targeted customer plans identifying business objectives, decision making processes, key personnel, and engagement strategies. Coordinate and align with Account Teams.
  • Establishes effective programs and processes to ensure assigned resources focus on winning strategic projects.
  • Perform opportunity identification, qualification, tracking and assist with proposal activities
  • Close new orders from a select group of US Government customers including DOE NE with a focus on National Laboratories, DOD, NNSA, and other entities which receive USG funding
  • Support contract negotiations with customers
  • Develop economic and market scenarios to help management challenge and validate key business decisions
  • Provide marketing and communications plan inputs to promote the strategic business targets

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this opportunity:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a related business, finance, or engineering field, or equivalent related experience in lieu of degree, plus a minimum of 8 years of related experience including a minimum of two years of proposal development experience.

The following may be used to differentiate candidates who apply for this position:

  • Prior experience working with the USG
  • Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of Framatome solutions to business development opportunities.
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with PC-based applications such as MS Office
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management
  • Ability to change priorities quickly, confront issues directly and work well as part of a team

Our total rewards package

The range of base salary for the position is between $106,000-$143,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
