Strategic Finance Director

We’re looking for a Strategic Finance Director to drive automation, transparency, and greater efficiency within the company’s financial ecosystem.

You’ll act as a key contributor to the strategic financial direction and reporting for a public company within the highly regulated insurance industry. You’ll play a major role in daily financial operations to help us scale and evolve our complex financial model.

The starting base range for this position is between $160,000 and $200,000 per year. Base pay is one component of Lemonade's total compensation package, which will also include equity in the form of RSUs, access to healthcare benefits, 401(k) plan with company match, robust PTO, parental leave, and more.

In this role you’ll

• Help develop and drive FP&A strategy, approach, and deliverables
• Oversee both weekly and annual financial reports and regular enhancements of those reports
• Utilize our evolving, detailed financial model to tell the story of how our business works to our team and investors
• Efficiently work to scale our financial model as it becomes increasingly complex
• Work with company leaders to review KPI data and gauge short-term performance against OKR targets, guidance, and consensus
• Drive change attribution and variance analysis around our financial model
• Collaborate with all departments to accurately forecast the assumptions that drive the business
• Coordinate with company leadership to plan and model new products and business

What you’ll need

• 6+ years experience in corporate finance, banking, or consulting
• B.A. in Business or Finance/Accounting
• Advanced Excel and data-manipulation skills
• Keen communication skills and knack for relaying complicated quantitative topics (cross-sales, RBC calculations, etc.)
• A strong adherence to presentation and formatting standards
• Advanced table-chart-presentation integration in Google Workspace and MS office (XLS and PPT)
• Looker/Snowflake as well as Workday/Adaptive ERP system experience preferred
• Familiarity with month-end closing processes and accounting standards
• General understanding of U.S. GAAP/IFRS and financial statements
• P&C insurance experience is a significant advantage
• Comfortable with a hybrid (in-office and remote) work environment
