Strategic Sourcing Intern

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a leading global supplier of equipment, tools, service, and technical solutions for the mining industry. The product offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling, and materials handling.

Key performance areas

As the Strategic Sourcing Intern, your primary objective will be to work with the local production unit to ensure optimal sourcing support for the parts and equipment in multiple facilities. You will be expected to meet objectives and comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements as all employees of Sandvik.

Responsibilities include:

• Reach out to key contacts in the organization to gather required information regarding current processes
• Organize and analyze the information collected in a way that can be used by the entire organization
• Facilitate the sharing of information to help create best practices for the organization
• Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders, such as IT, to help streamline processes
• Present key findings, solutions, and results to supply chain management team
• Some regional travel may be required

Your Profile

• Enrollment in a Business degree program
• GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Completed at least two years of college education prior to start of internship
• Strong Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) knowledge and the ability to learn more
• Analytical skills and problem-solving attitude
• Excellent communication and presentation skills

This internship is not benefit-eligible and will be a minimum 20-hour weekly commitment.

Compensation: $20.00/hr.

The candidate should be located in Alachua or Chicago and/or the surrounding areas as the candidate will be in the office a minimum of 2 days a week and the rest will be remote.
