Baseline Requirements:

Currently enrolled as a university undergraduate student in Computer Science
Available to work full-time in summer 2023
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Able to work hybrid/in-office and within the Huntsville, AL area

Engineer Intern

Siemens EDA has an opportunity for a Hardware, Program Management, or Software Engineer Intern. The Intern will work in our Operations and Special Project Management team to provide services across the Electronic Board Systems division. The ideal candidate will have experience or willingness to learn Jira, VBA/Excel, MS Word, Confluence, and strong communication skills. The candidate should enjoy working with and leading people, database work and organization work.

Primary Responsibilities:

Project Management

Lead small projects to update/improve existing enterprise databases
Assist Program managers and product owners in managing projects, action items, and process improvements
Author/code improvements for analytics and reporting

Use of Cypress or other related Testing tool

Evaluate available testing tools as directed by senior members of the team. Run penetration tests, develop extensions to the tools, and identify and report defects in existing applications.
Technical content delivery
Use Confluence to provide documentation of work on the above projects as well as collaborating with others to improve existing documentation where required.

Qualifications:

Completion of sophomore year undergraduate Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering/ Mathematics/ Information Systems or other Engineering programs.
Strong competency in leadership and communication.
Skills with Jira, Confluence, Excel, MS Word and VBA (Excel) or to build interfaces between internal systems
Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work in both a team environment and independently
Confidence in decisions and ability to advocate those decisions to others
Insatiable intellectual curiosity
