Structural Bridge Intern

The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a Structural Engineering Intern for our Transportation practice in our Raleigh, NC office!

Job Summary:
The Structures Intern will be under the supervision of a Professional Engineer (PE) and work on the technical design of transportation related structures, plans production, and quantities development on a variety of projects and structures such as bridges, retaining walls, temporary walls, toll gantries, sign structures, and signal mast arms.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform calculations requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles
  • Prepare and revise engineering design drawings
  • Collect, prepare, and analyze data
  • Perform engineering with the use of computer-assisted engineering software and equipment
  • Provide support to engineering and project management associates

Qualifications:
  • Current student pursuing a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering at an ABET accredited university with at least 1 year remaining until program completion
  • 2.5 GPA or above
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior internship or related experience
