About the Job

StubHub is seeking an experienced and strategic insights analyst to support our global communications function, based at headquarters in New York City. As an Insights analyst, you will help us find newsworthy trends with data, forecast predictions, use data to support critical company positioning and operationalize the communications insights function. You will be our dedicated insights analyst resource that fuels the company’s storytelling for strategic PR/earned media, organic social, policy comms and internal comms. You will be able to build dashboards and work closely across the analytics engineering team and data science teams to mine for data reports that support stakeholders across the U.S. and Europe, implementing a process to optimize the function, reduce churn and enhance the use of our available data across the global organization. You have a passion for leveraging data to influence audiences with compelling insights that supportscritical proactive and reactive messaging, positioning and storylines.  You will play a pivotal role in supporting our brand and communication strategies at large, aligned with our business goals and our customer needs.  


The right candidate is analytically minded, proficient in analytic tools and techniques (Tableau, Looker, Excel and SQL) and has a penchant for being creative to find an unexpected insight. Candidates should expect a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, performance-focused, and collaborative work environment. 


About the Team  

The Global Communications team is responsible for how we communicate about the company to key stakeholders, including consumers, media, partners, policymakers and employees. Our job is to craft the right narratives that support StubHub’s mission to become the go-to live event destination for live events around the world, and to deploy these narratives strategically across all earned channels. We work cross-functionally with every aspect of the business – from Product to Partnerships, Supply to Fulfillment, Customer Support to Acquisition Marketing and more – to help build our reputation, raise brand awareness and affinity for StubHub and our international brand viagogo, as well as create and foster how we communicate with our employees worldwide.    


This is a hybrid work opportunity located in New York, NY. We have a 3-day in-office and 2-day remote schedule.


What You'll Do
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to identify key data points and insights that support our messaging and strategic objectives.  
  • Operationalize the data storytelling and data analysis function for a global comms team, utilizing project management skills to drive alignment and share resources, create automation for efficiency and more. 
  • Distill complex data and insights into compelling, easy-to-understand narratives that engage and inform stakeholders, both internal and external. 
  • Build dashboards and automated reports to simplify and streamline common data request patterns, that you’ll recognize and take the initiative on driving 
  • Use analytical tools to infer trends and non-obvious insights in marketplace and customer behavior 
  • Work with other data teams (analytics engineers, data engineers) to land and interpret data and business definitions from across the company  


Who You Are
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience inanalytics engineering, data engineering, or business intelligence experience in a fast paced, high growth environment 
  • Strong writing and communications skills to adapt insights and figures for wide audiences 
  • Proficient with querying and analyzing large scale data with modern cloud databases such as Snowflake, Redshift and BigQuery 
  • Experience building and exploring reports/dashboards with business intelligence (BI) tools, such as Tableau and Looker 
  • Passionate about bridging technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand, translate and accurately deliver on their data storytelling needs 
  • Experience collaborating cross functionally with business and product teams 
  • Experience with one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Java) and markup configuration languages (e.g.) YAML, a plus 
  • Enthusiasm and excitement about the live event space, and an intuitive understanding of a marketplace dynamic 
  • High tolerance for change, and the capacity to achieve in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. 
  • Strong stakeholder management skills. Can hear a positioning objective and distill it into a brief to pull data that will achieve the positioning needs. 
  • Motivated team player with a hands-on mentality and a willingness to explore and try new things – not afraid to roll up your sleeves to meet a goal.  
  • Highly organized, adaptable and proactive, and able to assess and prioritize on the fly. 
  • Previous experience with people management strongly preferred.

$145,000 - $170,000 a year
The anticipated gross base annual salary range for this role is $145,000 – $170,000 per year. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies. Base annual salary is one component of StubHub’s total compensation and competitive benefits package, which includes equity, 401(k), paid time off, paid parental leave, and comprehensive health benefits.
