Senior Data Scientist – Consumer Product Experience (StubHub, Inc., New York, NY)
Champion and lead a culture of data driven decision making by developing statistically robust decision-making frameworks that underpin an organizational understanding of how to measure the impact of product changes and how to bring the best experience to buyers. Develop in-depth knowledge and understanding of company data, working across verticals of data engineering, product and analytics, and business intelligence. Develop internal decision-making framework for SEO multivariate experimentation using Monte Carlos Simulations and Time Series forecasting models to enable measurement of impact to SEO of changes to the website and sitemap. Effectively leverage statistical methods of bootstrapping, ratio methods and time series models to ensure accuracy in insight from Consumer Experience multivariate experimentation. Research and investigate the impact to multivariate experimentation insight and velocity between Bayesian and Frequentist statistical frameworks and develop roadmap for experimentation based on the outcome. Calculate the compounding impact to conversion rate and Gross Profit of sequential multivariate experiments with confidence intervals using Monte Carlo Simulations to the business revenues and report of the company growth via experimentation. Leverage machine learning methods such as random forest, K-means clustering and linear regression models to understand customer lifetime value and make predictive models to be used in Consumer Experience products. Collaborate and communicate with stakeholders across the organization, tailoring communication style to technical and non-technical teams as appropriate. Effectively create visualizations and summaries of key business metrics to communicate the insight of analysis and enable data driven decision making across the Consumer Experience team. Develop and conduct Consumer Experience experiments based on your research, analysis and insight to validate hypotheses. Formulate alerting thresholds based on statistical confidence intervals using methodology such as Chi-Squared statistics to power operation excellence in internal alerting and reporting. Telecommuting may be permitted. When not telecommuting, must report to StubHub, Inc. at 3 World Trade Center – 175 Greenwich Street, 59th Floor, New York, New York 10007. Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 per year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or related, plus 4 years of professional experience as a Statistician, Data Scientist, or any occupation/position/job title involving Machine Learning techniques.
In lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of experience, the employer will accept a Master's degree or U.S. equivalent in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or related, plus 2 years of professional experience as a Statistician, Data Scientist, or any occupation/position/job title involving Machine Learning techniques.
Must also have experience in the following: 2 years of professional experience performing Data analysis and Data visualization and manipulation using Machine Learning techniques, Python, R, SQL, Excel, and Power BI on a relevant consumer product; 2 years of professional experience designing, running and analyzing feature experiments (including A/B tests); 2 years of professional experience using Monte Carlo Simulations and Time Series forecasting models; and 1 year of professional experience building PowerBI dashboards to visualize data.
