JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State’s Schreyer Honors College is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to support a New Scholar Experience that will support new Schreyer Scholars. This position will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating programming with the goal of maximizing student success and sense of belonging.
This position will;
Oversee the development, implementation, planning, coordination, and evaluation of student-focused programs and services including leadership training and orientation.
Counsel and advise student groups and organizations.
Establish and build relationships to serve as a liaison with other units and offices on campus, including University student resources.
Coordinate development of training workshops and informational programs for students and student organizations.
Compose internal and external communications about student activities including hard-copy and website updates.
Lead in data collection, analysis of routine inquiries and develop responses as required.
Participate in professional development activities to stay current on student development and theory.
Create and implement assessment tools to measure the success of a first-year program.
This position will Contribute/serve on Student Affairs committees, University committees, student activities and programming.
Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
Typical Requirements
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher and 1 year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
This is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re- funding.
