Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno’s Med IT department is seeking to hire a student worker who is dependable and has the desire to gain good IT troubleshooting skills and customer service experience.
The candidate will be provided training on classroom technology and computer applications necessary to properly troubleshoot and resolve issues within Med IT.
Responsibilities
The position is with the Med IT Support unit and will consist of:
  • Answering phones and online chat messages requesting IT support
  • Responding to Level 1 service calls
  • Working with technicians to complete support projects
  • The candidate should be able to troubleshoot and communicate solutions on a call or through chat, or direct the support call to the appropriate Med IT Technician for follow up
  • Occasional response to support calls in person
Required Qualifications
  • Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno
  • Candidate must be able to work early day shifts starting 8:00 AM
  • Candidate must have excellent customer service and organizational skills as well as a basic understanding of how to use computers in a business environment
