Student: Building Space Assistant

We are looking to immediately hire a reliable Furniture Mover to join our team. The successful candidate will be punctual, helpful, and a collaborative worker. Duties primarily involve moving of items, loading and unloading, and assembling or placing items as needed. The successful candidate must feel comfortable with driving a large truck and know how to interact professionally with customers. All of our staff members are expected to use extreme care when handling items and take pride in doing so.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Pick up, deliver, assemble, and move various items (mainly furniture)
  • Safely load, unload, and transport items
  • Pack and unpack items as needed
  • Track inventory through use of computer system

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a USU student
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Valid driver’s license required to drive moving truck as needed
  • Team player
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Customer service skills
  • Comfortable with using Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Must be a US citizen or lawful permanent resident

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior furniture moving experience
  • Experience using various moving tools
    • Lifting equipment (dollies, ramps, pallet hacks)
    • Hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, drill)
    • Packing supplies (tape, ropes, straps)
  • Detail-oriented and proactive
  • Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of personnel at different professional levels
  • Able to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Organizational skills

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • The ability to lift heavy items over 50 pounds and items overhead on a regular basis
  • The ability to climb stairs while lifting heavy items over 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • May work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
