Job Description
The Subcontractor HSSE Advisor will lead the effort to ensure Subcontractors are evaluated, assessed, approved, and trained as required by Fugro’s QHSSE management system’s expectations and requirements, including project-specific requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.
Ensure the elements of the Subcontractor Management Plan is implemented on all Fugro work sites and operations.
Liaise with the Fugro Risk Manager to ensure all subcontractors have adequate insurance coverage prior to the commencement of work.
Identify critical and high-risk subcontractors for the purpose of conducting management system audits and/or site assessments as necessary.
Support Project teams as needed to ensure subcontractors and subcontract personnel have met assurance and training obligations.
Coordinate and facilitate the HSSE workshop for identified key [critical] subcontractors on an annual basis.
Maintain active involvement in the assurance and vetting process of third-party chartered vessels by:
Verifying regulatory good standing of marine vessels on Port State Information Exchange website
Actively supporting communications with the Fugro vessel vetting team
Actively coordinate non-regulatory vessel inspections, i.e., OVID, IMCA CMID, etc.
Support third party vessel operators in achieving approval through end-client marine assurance process.
Skills and Competencies:
Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions
Associate degree or technical school diploma *May be substituted for minimum of 4 years’ experience in similar role
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role. Experience in US Coast Guard maritime regulations, IMO,and Class requirements
Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally on occasion to various subcontractor offices, marine vessels and job-site locations for assessment and auditing purposes (up to 45%).
Capable of performing duties satisfactorily with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment, either independently or as part of a team
Adept in public speaking and ability to present material professionally to the audience either in person or digitally.
Perform audits in a professional manner on management systems and site-level activities.
