As an Applied Scientist at Summation, you will be at the forefront of developing and advancing AI-driven solutions for business planning and analytics. You will explore and build innovative models and methods to accelerate analytical workflows for our customers. This role is well-suited for a creative, hands-on problem solver who is passionate about transforming how organizations operate through practical AI applications.
Rapid Prototyping: Develop prototypes to quickly test the feasibility of AI-driven solutions for business planning challenges, focusing on practical applications that bring immediate value to users.
Experimentation and Iteration: Conduct experiments to validate AI models, iterating on solutions based on empirical results and user feedback, ensuring the development of impactful and user-friendly tools.
Collaboration with Product and Deployment Teams: Partner with engineers, product managers, and solution leads to transition proof-of-concepts into scalable, real-world applications for our customers.
Focus on End-User Impact: Keep the end-user experience at the forefront, designing models and solutions that are practical, useful, and enhance user workflows.
Degree in Operations Research, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in applied AI or OR, preferably with a focus on decision support systems.
Strong knowledge of machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and experience with LLMs, predictive modeling, and optimization techniques.
Experience working with financial data systems, business planning, or analytics platforms is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with a passion for tackling complex, data-rich problems.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
