Summer 2024 CAD Co-op / Intern

Overview Position Summary The Co-op or Intern shall work in a team environment to dimension and annotate CAD drawings for use in the field from drawings developed by designers and engineers that are consistent with the AutoCAD/Revit standards set forth at McKenney’s, Inc.

Responsibilities Create Utilize McKenney’s drafting standards to create and edit shop drawings. Utilize McKenney’s drafting standards to create and edit spool sheets for fabrication. Dimension and annotate drawings developed by designers. Draft redlines drawings from project engineers and designers. Understand layering techniques, pen weights, etc. required to produce a clear & legible drawing. Performance Willingness to seek knowledge from others. Enthusiastic about job responsibilities. Responsible for producing all documents in a timely matter based on job requirements to meet the commitments to our customers, both internal and external.

Requirements Education & Experience Drafting certificate or 6 months experience in drafting. 6 months experience with AutoCAD 2018 or Revit 2018 or higher. Must have basic PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software. High school diploma or GED. Preferred Ability to draw simple sections with designer’s/engineer’s direction. Provide design assistance to engineers and designers. Work Environment Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment. No or very limited exposure to physical risk. No or very limited physical effort required.
