Job Description: The Moxy Hotel is looking for a responsible and vigilant Overnight Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our guests, staff, and property during night hours. As an Overnight Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a visible presence, monitoring security systems, conducting regular patrols, and responding promptly to incidents. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, reliable, and committed to providing a secure environment for all. This shift starts at 11:00 pm - 6:00 am.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.

- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.

- Strong observation and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Basic computer skills for reporting and monitoring security systems.

- Must be able to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.

- Flexible to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.*

Key Responsibilities:

Patrol and Surveillance:

Conduct regular patrols of hotel premises, including guest floors, parking areas, and common spaces to ensure safety and detect any suspicious activities.

Monitor Security Systems:

Oversee security cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems, ensuring proper functionality and addressing any breaches or malfunctions.

Guest and Staff Assistance:

Respond to guest inquiries or concerns in a courteous and professional manner, providing assistance as needed.

Incident Response:

Act swiftly to respond to any security incidents, including disturbances, thefts, or emergency situations. Coordinate with local law enforcement when necessary.

Access Control:

Regulate access to restricted areas, ensuring only authorized personnel enter designated locations within the hotel.

Reporting:

Document and report any safety hazards, suspicious behavior, or incidents. Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, security checks, and incident reports.

Emergency Preparedness:

Assist in evacuations and other emergency procedures, ensuring the safety of all guests and staff in compliance with the hotel’s emergency protocols.

Shift availability:

Night Shift 11:00 pm - 6:00 am

Full - Time

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time. Light work – exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
