Studio General Manager

The Role: 

We’re looking to bring on a General Manager for our IP Studio. With a mission to disrupt the traditional media model by disintermediating fans and IP, our Studio has produced a number of global brands spanning all areas of entertainment.

The role is responsible for crafting strategy with senior leadership and ensuring efficient, timely delivery of initiatives against the overall team objectives. They will be expected to steer strategic direction and ensure the studio’s goals are consistently achieved. 

This role demands a strategic thinker and a hands-on executor who can inspire, foster accountability and deliver measurable results. Experience in building global brands across media channels required.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Team Management:

  • Oversee and manage the studio team including marketing, engineering, product, and other key functions.

  • Set clear goals for team members, ensuring alignment against studio objectives.

  • Foster a high-performance culture.

  • Promote well functioning cross departmental collaboration, ensuring seamless execution of projects.

2. Strategy and Growth:

  • Work closely with senior leadership to set and direct the studio’s strategic goals.

  • Drive the growth and expansion of brands and IPs within the studio’s portfolio.

  • Identify market opportunities and innovate on strategies to deliver marketing leading products.

3. Performance and Accountability:

  • Establish and monitor Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for the studio and its teams.

  • Ensure the studio consistently meets or exceeds performance metrics and milestones.

  • Analyze performance data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.

4. Business Development:

  • Build partnerships and explore new revenue streams to enhance the studio’s IP offerings.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to secure resources and support for strategic initiatives.

5. Operational Excellence:

  • Drive operational efficiency across teams and projects.

  • Ensure the studio operates within budgetary constraints while delivering high-quality outcomes.
