JOB SUMMARY
Job Profile Summary

Supervises and directs employees engaged in activities related to maintenance, operations, and measurement of gathering and/or pipeline system.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Supervise, direct, train, mentor, and/or assist employees performing pipeline operations, measurement, and maintenance activities on gathering and/or pipeline system including compressor stations, dehydration facilities, pumping facilities, measurement facilities, and related equipment
  • Facilitate exchange information regarding pipeline operations, maintenance, measurement, and other activities with public/governmental officials, employees, contractors, customers, producers, and landowners
  • Compile, prepare, audit, and/or analyze various reports and documents including, but not limited to:
    • O&M capital budgets
    • Measurement documentation
    • Balance reports
    • AFE’s
    • Construction drawings and maps
  • Audit and compliance documentation
  • Drive and ensure maintenance is completed on assigned company vehicles
  • Provide information and/or assistance to management and employees regarding daily work activities, scheduling, operational changes, etc.
  • Act as a liaison between operations and business partners to ensure compliance, customer service, cost effectiveness, safety, and environmental responsibility for assets
  • Coordinate system improvements, modifications and other special projects
  • Determine materials required for operations and prepare appropriate purchase requisitions
  • Ensure compliance with company policies related to OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements, preparing appropriate documentation
  • React immediately to emergency situations to prevent injury to self and others
  • Responsibilities may include Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline. Job duties also require the employee to be alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions, and where impaired performance, or failure to follow safety precautions, could result in serious injury or property damage.

Work Experience
  • Following job related experience required:
    • Company and governmental operating/safety procedures and environmental regulations
    • Characteristics of natural gas and gas liquids
    • Pigging pipelines, blowing drips, gauging tanks, and collecting liquids
    • Construction methods
    • Transmission and/or gathering system operations
    • Emergency response procedures
    • Communication skills
  • Experience interacting, negotiating, advising and communicating effectively and in exchanging written and verbal information and instructions
  • Experience in use and function of applications such as: Microsoft Excel, Project, Access, and Word
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of: pipeline operations, maintenance, measurement, and related equipment
  • Knowledge of: monitoring, operating and maintaining pipeline systems and related equipment utilized in natural gas and liquids gathering and transmission systems
  • Knowledge of: various field functions including measurement, cathodic protection, and compressor/pump station operations
  • Knowledge of: maintenance and the repair of equipment
  • Knowledge of: patrolling pipelines, performing leakage surveys, and locating/marking lines
  • Knowledge of: valves and dehydration equipment, scrubbers, and separators
  • Knowledge of: cathodic protection/corrosion control activities
  • Ability to: use tools and equipment including computers and related software
  • Ability to: Establish, manage, prioritize, and assist others with multiple complex assignments with competing deadlines in a timely manner requesting assistance as needed
  • Ability to: apply basic math and algebraic formulas
  • Ability to: apply the use of formulas to estimate or calculate flow rates and volumes
  • Ability to: use logic and reasoning to identify alternate solutions or approaches to a problem
  • Ability to: communicate thoughts, ideas, information, messages and other written information, which may contain technical material, in a logical, organized and coherent manner
  • Ability to: supervise, direct and/or delegate work assignments
