Supervisory Audiovisual Production Specialist

Duties

  • Serves as the Director and principal advisor on all FDA video and web programming, studio facilities, production affairs involving public service information and educational programs prepared for national broadcast and distribution.
  • Plans, initiates and coordinates digital communication solutions aimed at promotion the dissemination of complex scientific information that is easily interpreted by diverse audiences.
  • Technical advisor providing expert level designs and dissemination of information and training via a variety of communication mechanisms to internal and external audiences.

Qualifications

The position of Supervisory Audiovisual Production Specialist falls under the 1071 occupational series. To qualify for this position at grade GS-14, you must meet all requirements by 11:59 pm EST on 07/21/2023.

Basic Requirements

You must have undergraduate or graduate education, major study in photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position. Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis.

Experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes work directly connected with the production aspects of the field(s) of the position to be filled.

Minimum Qualifications:

Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. The specialized experience must demonstrate one year of full-time work experience, or the equivalent if part-time (for example, an employee working 20 hours per week for a 12-month period should be credited with 6 months of experience.) Experience may have been obtained in either the federal service or its equivalent with state or local government, the private sector, or nongovernmental organizations.

GS-14: You must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13, in the Federal service, which includes: directing communication media activities or programs; providing technical and administrative direction to a team of diverse staff engaged in media communication activities, obtaining resources and identifying program objectives for a media communication organization to ensure effective program implementation and evaluation; planning, designing or leading digital communication/education mechanisms and solutions aimed at promoting the dissemination of complex information.

FOREIGN EDUCATION
Applicants using part, or all of their education completed outside of the U.S. to meet the qualification requirements, must have their foreign education evaluated by an accredited organization to ensure that the foreign education is comparable to education received in accredited educational institutions in the U.S. We will only accept the completed foreign credential evaluation.
