JOB PURPOSE:
Manage inbound and outbound logistics management to ensure the timely and efficient receipt and delivery of materiel to activity points along the material flow path. Ensure adherence to corporate policies and practices by working effectively with appropriate functional areas to maintain a high-velocity material flow.
JOB DUTIES:
Perform activities to ensure material is shipped, received, stored or delivered quickly and efficiently. Provide logistics management, analysis and support of inbound and outbound material flow. Using the CPS Guiding Principles, lead aggressive continuous improvement efforts to: Eliminate excess inventory, Manage material to PFEP-defined flowpaths, Provide development, maintenance and support of transportation requirements for the customer, including determining appropriate mode and carrier, Monitor carrier performance, determine root cause and take corrective action, Decrease transportation costs and reduce premium freight expense, Improve carrier quality and container scheduling and availability, Manage and support business unit or facility logistics activities. Provide support and assistance to business unit or facility groups to resolve transportation issues. Provide overall management of the facility freight expenses, including filing carrier loss and damaged freight claims and monitoring, analyzing and performing root cause corrective actions to resolve freight non-compliance issues.
Typical customers include:
Department or business/service unit in a division, Material suppliers, Transportation carriers, Import and export companies, 3rd party logistics providers, Subassembly and kitting operations, Packaging engineers, Shipping and receiving personnel, Product order analysts, Material planning and requirements personnel, Employees at product distribution centers.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field. 0-2 years experience required.
Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
- Develops material flow plans for all material coming into a facility for production
- Responsible for performing work to achieve corporate supply chain performance targets focused on inventory reduction, increased inventory
turns and improved order-to-delivery results.
-Team efforts to develop lean material flow plans for a facility, which may include implementing changes to factory floor layout and material
presentation at the point of use.
-Gathers and analyzes data on facility demand and demand variability for each part required for production based on daily demand
buckets for 120 work days.
Typical task breakdown:
- -Key team member working on the deployment of the Supply Chain Planning Process, which develops the Plan for Every
Part and Pull Replenishment methods for a facility.
- Creating and maintaining a site level Flow Map for parts used in production
Interaction with team:
- Position is key team member will be called upon to lead deployment teams, in the execution of Pull Material Replenishment
processes in a plant
Work environment:
In office most of the time; working with team
Education & Experience Required:
- Degree in a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- 1-2 years of experience in the role (including internship experience)
- Previous experience using common supply chain systems.
- Desired: CSPC National Certification
Technical Skills
Experience and knowledge of lean concepts and tools.
Experience and knowledge about CPS supply chain principles, specifically those applied to pull replenishment using material replenishment tools and processes, Supply Chain Planning analytical tools, material flow and throughput efficiency
Knowledge /experience deploying using 6Sigma Project Management principles.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Design and deploy lean systems in a highly productive environment with minimal disruption to daily requirements

- Work effectively with diverse, multi-functional teams in order to apply the supply chain planning process and lead
- Leadership skills
- Strong collaborative, interpersonal and negotiation skills
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Salary: $40.00 - $42.00 per hour
