Jacksonville Fire and Rescue is one (1) Supply Coordinator.

This is technical administrative work in receiving, recording, storing and issuing materials, equipment and supplies as well as the distribution of various supplies, equipment, and special orders to appropriate areas; customer service via direct customer contact, via email, and by telephone. The work requires knowledge of techniques, methods, and procedures used in storeroom and warehouse work which involves the use of specialized skills or specialized equipment which is learned on the job or through specialized training. Contacts require courtesy, tact and effectiveness in dealing with others, and include contacts to request or provide information, ask questions or obtain clarification. The work is fairly routine following established routines, procedures and standing instructions, but some variation in the sequence and choice of procedures used is permitted based on situations encountered in the workplace. The work is normally performed in an office, storeroom or warehouse environment where the employee may work at heights of five feet or more above the floor or ground level and may come in contact with hazardous materials and equipment. The risks are known, predictable and controllable. The physical demands range from sitting or standing to moderate physical exertion in lifting and moving equipment and supplies weighing less than 50 pounds. Operates a truck or van, standard office equipment, storeroom and warehouse equipment such as small hand/power tools, forklifts, personal computers, copy machines, and mail machines. Work is performed under general supervision where the work assignments are subject to instructions and established work routines, and the worker is given latitude to rearrange the sequence based on changing work situations, or workflow.
Examples of Work
- Receives, unloads, records, unpacks, stores and issues a variety of store goods, equipment and materials.

Checks incoming goods, equipment and materials for quantity and quality against invoices or purchase orders, reporting discrepancies to supervisor.

Prepares and maintains a perpetual inventory system.

Establishes and maintains inventory records and files.

Assembles, packs and transports stored goods, equipment and materials.

Responds to inquiries and requests by users to identify and order the appropriate goods, equipment and materials.

Traces and follows up on requisition orders.

Operates forklifts and other equipment in issuing, moving and loading stored goods, equipment and materials.

Operates a truck or van, standard office equipment, storeroom and warehouse equipment such as small hand/power tools, forklifts, personal computers, copy machines, and mail machines.

Cleans and maintains assigned work area.

Picks up and/or delivers a variety of goods, equipment and materials to multiple locations on a daily basis. May handle monetary checks.

Performs minor maintenance, as needed, including, but not limited to changing light bulbs, moving or repairing furniture, light plumbing, checking and adding oil, water, fuel, checking tire pressure, and reporting problems and needed repairs on assigned vehicles.

Demonstrates proficiency in the City of Jacksonville’s competencies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of basic storeroom and warehousing methods, practices and procedures.

Knowledge of general maintenance and plumbing including the use of small hand tools.

Skill in operation of standard office, mailing, storeroom and warehouse equipment.

Ability to operate a personal computer using word processing, spreadsheet, databases, and related software applications.

Ability to establish and maintain inventory related files and records.

Ability to match up classes or types of items by use of alpha/numeric information.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to read, understand and apply job related materials.

Ability to transcribe legibly and neatly.

Ability to perform basic mathematics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals and fractions.

Ability to operate a truck or van, standard office equipment, storeroom and warehouse equipment such as small hand/power tools, forklifts, personal computers, copy machines, and mail machines.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Ability to walk for long periods of time, climb ladders, stoop, bend, reach, lift and carry items weighing less than 50 lbs.

Ability to type at a rate of 25 words per minute, depending upon assignment.
Open Requirements/Supplemental Information
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

Must have at least two years of warehousing experience or clerical experience involving the receiving and invoicing of goods, equipment, and materials.

OSHA Forklift Certification will be required prior to appointment.

Depending upon assignment, must be able to type 25 words per minute.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:-
A valid driver's license is required prior to appointment and must be maintained.

FL Class B Driver's License depending on assignment, may be required and must be maintained.

City of Jacksonville Public Driver Certification must qualify for prior to appointment, obtain and maintain during employment.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:-
The probationary period for this class is six (6) months.
