Schedule: Monday - Friday, Day shift
Location: 3100 E Fletcher Ave, Tampa, FL

The role you’ll contribute:
The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for greeting, instructing, directing and scheduling patients. Responsibilities include scheduling surgical procedures, pre-admission testing, and posting of surgical charges. Serves as a liaison between patient and medical support staff.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Meets with patient to coordinate surgical date
- Reviews preoperative instructions: bowel preparation, no aspirin, etc.
- Registers patient and procedure with the appropriate hospital scheduling department
- Correlates pre-admission testing and surgical clearance appointments
- Prepares patient chart orders for surgical RN
- Obtains authorization for hospital admission from patient’s insurance carrier
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Must be willing to float to other AHMG practices, within reason, when patient load, vacation schedules etc. make it necessary
Preferred:
- Medical office experience
- One year of medical terminology, ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding experience
