What You’ll Do

As an intern, you will participate in a broad range of meaningful work experiences that are related to various topics within the realm of sustainability. The primary goal of the Sustainability Hub being to elevate the conversation and community awareness about the importance of reducing emissions, promoting renewable energy, and identifying energy efficient solutions for residents and commercial businesses alike. As an intern, you will staff the Sustainability Hub space and assist in day-to-day operations.

This internship opportunity requires a commitment of at least 4 days in person for the upcoming semester (September 2023 – December 2023). Interns will be kept to a maximum of 20 hours per week while school is in session, with the possibility of more hours on winter and summer breaks.

Including, but not limited to:
  • Assist all customers and Hub visitors in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Participate in trainings about relevant sustainability and company initiatives in order relay information to customers and Hub visitors.
  • Assist customers and visitors in using technologies such as electronic thermostats or energy star appliances and spread awareness about relevant rebates and incentives.
  • Refer customer concerns, such as account billing questions, to call center personnel or the appropriate company individual.
  • Conduct Sustainability Hub tours for a wide variety of stakeholders from the local community and company.
  • Host and/or present at staff community events or store events to promote benefits of emerging energy technologies for consumers and stakeholders.
  • Update our social media, web, and internal company social sites with creative and engaging content to share new projects, updates, or educational content.
  • Develop power point presentations and other engaging educational content as necessary
  • Attend various virtual or in-person team and company meetings to stay informed and collaborate on numerous cross-functional initiatives.
  • Secure building at the end of shift if applicable, schedule cleanings and communicate necessary maintenance requirements to keep the Sustainability Hub organized, clean, and in good working order.

What You’ll Need

  • Pursuing a degree in Business, Environmental, Marketing or Sustainability related studies.
  • Applicant must have accumulated 18 or more credits and be 18 years of age
  • Applicants must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States
  • Registered in school as a full-time student and continuing education full-time for at least the Fall 2023 Semester

Work Structure Overview

This Internship opportunity is classified as in-person, meaning in person work is required at least 4 days a week while working toward the 20hr weekly limit. Salary Range
$17.00 - $25.00 an hour (Undergraduate Student)
$26.00- $32.00 an hour (Graduate Student)

Candidates will be assessed and provided offers based on major, degree type, and class year.
