Sustainability Analyst

The two primary focuses of this position are to assist and submit data/analytics reports for a variety of clients and provide support to the RTS sustainability consulting department and the prioritization of where responsibilities will fall in this role will change depending on the needs of the SVP of Sustainability.

The successful candidate will work with the Analytics team to assist in ongoing data reporting, conduct data quality audits and prepare customized reporting for client needs. Additionally, will assist project teams and staff, providing information and expertise regarding sustainable ideas, programs and products.

This position is located in the Columbus, Ohio area and you will be expected to work from the RTS offices in Columbus at least two days a week per RTS policy.

Other duties may be assigned on an as needed basis.

Primary: Sustainability Analytics Support:

• Create accurate and detailed reports for clients and management
• Conduct data quality audits, data entry, and other related actions relevant to specific data projects

• Complete customized reporting on a monthly cadence for all required clients
• Assist with tracking and maintaining data, analyze data and create reports for clients
• Coordinate research on sector specific best practices to share with clients
• Update various databases used by RTS for client data
• Attend client meetings to discuss data and actions being undertaken

• Develop and implement automation and other efficiencies to reduce manual labor for reporting

Secondary: Sustainability Consulting Support:

• Help with/review project specifications and procedures to meet certification and/or local law requirements.
• Assist RTS Sustainability team with developing sustainability programs and initiatives towards achieving client goals.

• Develop templates for signage and other training materials for client waste management programs
• Coordinate research on sector specific best practices to share with clients
• Attend client meetings with other RTS consultants
• Help develop company wide lunch and learns on sustainability topics

Requirements

Education and Experience

• Experience in a sustainability environment role or University degree pertaining to sustainability.
• TRUE Zero Waste Advisor and LEED accreditation highly valued. Knowledge of multiple sustainability rating and certification systems preferred.
• Experience developing and implementing sustainability concepts and strategies as demonstrated through actual project or program work with demonstrable results. Proven effectiveness in coordinating with management teams, vendors, and consultants.

• Experience with data, report generation, data analytics
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Dynamics, Powerbi, Airtable, Asana, and other systems for data management and analysis.
• Knowledge of the waste industry and sustainable waste management concepts, and other waste-related issues is a plus.
• Comfortable with public speaking and networking.
• Excellent attention to details

• Capable of working with minimal supervision.
• Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented and organized with proven experience in simultaneously managing multiple projects.
