Job Description

About the role

Join Sydney Airport as a Senior Procurement Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping the way we source and manage key services that keep our operations running smoothly. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development and execution of procurement strategies across a diverse portfolio of contracts. With growth comes opportunity and we are looking for an experienced professional who can bring strategic thinking, commercial acumen and a collaborative mindset to drive value and deliver high-quality outcomes across a range of functions.

This role will see you partner closely with senior leaders and stakeholders to embed best practice procurement processes, ensure robust governance, and lead end-to-end procurement activities – from strategy and contractor assessment through to negotiation, implementation and ongoing supplier performance. You'll also play a key role in uplifting procurement capability across the business, contributing to the delivery of efficient, cost-effective, and risk-aware solutions that support the broader success of one of Australia’s most iconic infrastructure assets.

In this role you will have the opportunity to

  • Lead the development and execution of end-to-end procurement strategies across a range of high-value operational and service contracts.
  • Partner with stakeholders to forecast procurement needs, identify business requirements, and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions aligned to broader business goals.
  • Conduct market analysis and supplier evaluations to build and maintain a capable contractor base that enables quality, timely and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Drive best practice across the full contract lifecycle – from planning, tendering and negotiation through to contract award, implementation and performance management.
  • Provide commercial and procurement advice to internal stakeholders and manage supplier relationships, including the resolution of issues and disputes.
  • Promote and embed consistent procurement processes that balance governance with flexibility, reducing complexity and improving efficiency.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by enhancing procurement tools, systems and templates to streamline delivery and uplift capability.
  • Support the implementation of strategic initiatives, such as modern slavery compliance, within procurement and supplier management practices.

About you

  • Extensive experience in procurement leadership, with a track record of delivering high-value outcomes and uplifting procurement capability across teams and stakeholders.
  • Deep expertise in managing complex service-based and operational contracts, with a strong commercial mindset and a focus on long-term value creation.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing category management strategies across both recurring spend and project-based procurement.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Advanced negotiation skills and the confidence to manage complex conversations while maintaining strong supplier and stakeholder relationships.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo, drive innovation and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, supported by proficiency in procurement tools and systems.
  • A relevant degree in business, procurement, engineering or a related field, with a solid understanding of evolving procurement practices and compliance frameworks such as modern slavery.
