UX Designer II

At System Initiative, we’re passionate about building innovative software that is the Future of DevOps Automation. We’re looking for a UX Designer who can help build a revolutionary visual and multi-layer interface, which does for DevOps Engineering what Figma did for Design. As a key member of our Product team, you’ll work directly for our Director of Product and collaborate closely with our co-founders and engineering team to deliver intuitive and impactful user experiences. Your work will drive the design of our user interface, blending a passion for usability with an obsession for interaction design.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on the strategic UI/UX design for System Initiative

  • Proactively research UI/UX in other industries (gaming, VFX, design) and apply those insights to our Product

  • Participate in product ideation and work with Product and Engineering leadership on Opportunity planning

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to set the UI/UX objectives for the Engineering teams

  • Provide Engineering teams with prototype designs, wireframes, and mock-ups

  • Provide Engineering teams with feedback on initial designs, wireframes, and mock-ups to impact in-progress work

  • Interact with our community, responding to questions or comments about UI/UX and facilitating discussions about upcoming UI/UX projects and strategy

  • Conduct user research and usability testing

  • Build out our design system, workflow, and component library

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in user experience, UI design, and interaction design with a focus on visual interfaces that help manage complex tasks across multiple personas

  • An understanding of Enterprise products (preferably SaaS)

  • Familiarity with Developer tools and building products for technical folks

  • Proficiency in information architecture, interaction design, and visual design

  • Proficiency with graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Figma

  • Ability to rapidly prototype interactive user experiences

  • Elevated esthetic sense

  • Detail-oriented and operate with a sense of urgency

  • Ability to design for the needs of today with an eye toward the future

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities

  • Experience working directly with engineering

  • Perform well given a high level of independence and autonomy

  • Thrive working with a fully distributed team

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary range: $125K - $185K. The salary range may differ in countries outside of the USA.

  • Stock Option range: .05% - .1% Fully Diluted

  • Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), etc. We are a small company with big company benefits 

  • An accrual paid time off (PTO) policy of 24 days per calendar year. We encourage all employees to take one week of PTO per quarter, where they unplug entirely 

  • Home office and equipment stipend. Just articulate what you need, and we’ll take care of it

  • You can live anywhere, but your working hours will overlap with a 9 am - 6 pm Pacific Time Zone schedule by 6 hours
