System Integration Engineer

This is what you’ll do:

• Be an EV Charging Communications subject matter expert (SAE, ISO, OCPP)
• Perform testing of AC Charging Products hardware and firmware including L2 Wallbox, portable chargers and mode 3 cables. Provide detailed reports of issues to relevant teams
• Support internal validation testing of the AC Charging products by interfacing with Reliability, Safety Regulatory, and Electrical teams
• Support interoperability testing of the AC Charging products with EVs on the market to ensure a world class product
• Participate in DFMEA creation and reviews to help identify critical product risks and develop design verification and validation test plans
• Drive root cause analysis on validation test and field failures to identify root cause and propose corrective actions for issue mitigation/prevention

This is what you’ll need:

• BS. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with electric vehicle battery charging systems.
• Understanding of the SAE J1772 vehicle charging protocol.
• Understanding of the ISO 15118 vehicle charging protocol.
• Understanding of OCPP 1.6JSON communication protocol.
• In depth understanding of the regulatory requirements, UL, ISO, IEC and industry standards applicable to utility connected electric vehicle battery charging products.
• Experience or understanding of hardware and software validation testing at various levels (SIL, HIL, Charger and Vehicle Charging System).
• Comfortable in the lab, pragmatic approach to creating up test setups / executing test plans with a solid eye to detail and accuracy; Hands on experience is an advantage.
• Experience with embedded Linux is a plus
• Good communication and reporting skills; can outline an issue or proposal in a concise and unambiguous manner.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.
• Good team player with great communication skills.
• Self-motivated: Demonstrated ability to set direction and guide the team towards it.

Salary: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
