The Systems Administrator ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operations of MedVet’s information systems that support our teams in delivering the MedVet Experience to our patients, clients, and Referral Partners. In this role, the individual is responsible for installation, configuration, and maintenance of the server application infrastructure. The Systems Administrator will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
This will be a hybrid role with a blend of at home/office work (1 day a week in office). Candidates must reside in a location with a current MedVet hospital.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Planning installing, documenting, and supporting the server application infrastructure.

Performs server and storage hardware/software installation and maintenance tasks. These tasks range from standard in nature to moderately complex.

Identify areas for improvement, problem identification and resolution.

Responsible for the implementation of baseline changes

Schedule installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.

Monitors and adjust the system(s) to achieve optimum performance levels.

Perform technical evaluations, analysis and troubleshooting for all supported servers.

Provide support for tier 2 helpdesk support for server infrastructure issues.

Maintain reliable performance through active monitoring of logs and user-reported network issues.

Monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and report metrics on service and application issues (uptime, redundancy, latency, performance, usage, etc.)

Be responsive to failures and issues as part of a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Manage Users, Groups, Roles, Permissions, and Organizations

Troubleshoot data and workflow issues.

Ability to manage servers with virtualization.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Our ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years’ experience in systems / data center infrastructure. Experience in the healthcare and/or veterinary industry is a plus but not required. In addition, this position requires:

Bachelor’s or technical degree or combination of education and experience

Advanced experience in Active Directory, Active Directory design and merge, and Azure is highly recommended

Ability to manage multiple assignments and adjust priorities as necessary.

Effective communication and organization skills; demonstrates confidence, creativity, and maturity.

Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with all levels within the organization.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Capability to travel 10% including overnight and multi-day automobile and airline travel.

Lift and transport moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals

Occasional handling and inspection of components, connections and cables in floors, ceilings, and other restrictive areas
