Systems Engineer - job 1 of 2
Spirent is currently looking for an experienced Systems Engineer in the high-speed ethernet and routing protocols to help drive sales in Test and Measurement. This individual will be an integral member of Spirent's regional sales team and work closely with Cisco.
A successful candidate will perform the core Systems Engineering role as an individual contributor - specializing in Pre-Sales activities and acting as the technical expert on Spirent's products and solutions. The ability to understand customer requirements, determine the best solutions and effectively communicate the value proposition of those solutions are critical to the success of this role. All candidates must have a proven networking background and demonstrated capability to rapidly learn and assimilate new networking technologies as our customers require.
This engineer's primary focus will be to drive technical end-to-end solutions to our clients as part of an integrated sales team. Pre-sales activities include solution development, technical presentations, design documentation creation, assisting with technical questions or concerns during the sales process, frequently participating in the project specification process, acting as a liaison between Spirent's sales/business development and engineering groups, and leading key customer proof of concepts in addition to direct customer engagement in support of the sales team's objectives.

Requirements:- Bachelor's degree with technical focus from an accredited university required or equivalent work experience. A master's degree with a technical focus is a plus.
- A minimum of 2+ years of relevant work experience.
- Strong technical skills in networking, network security, and applications.
- Strong technical skills and hands-on experience in IP and Ethernet technologies, Data Center Ethernet, 400/100/40/10GigEth, L4-L7 technologies, Cloud Services, Virtualization, OpenFlow & SDN/NFV.
- Application-level protocol knowledge (HTTP(s), FTP, DNS, TELNET, TCP/IP, Streaming Media).
- Security device knowledge (Firewall, load balancing, IDS, IPS).
- Routing protocol knowledge, both IPv4 and IPv6 including RIP, BGP, OSPF, and ISIS.
- MPLS Protocol knowledge: RSVP-TE, LDP.
- Previous telecom/networking test equipment experience would be a plus (Spirent TestCenter, Avalanche, Adtech, Ixia, Agilent, Shenick, BreakingPoint Systems).
- Programming Language experience in Python is a plus.
- Outstanding interpersonal abilities, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail, plus analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Positive, service-orientated personality.
- Self-motivated, working independently, and willing to accept challenges.
- Organized with excellent time management skills.
- Strong commitment to developing and maintaining long-term customer relationships.

- Ability to effectively present information and respond to customer questions.
Annualized Salary Wage Range: $165,847.74 - $211262.80
Spirent applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience at or in line with the minimum requirements.
