Job Description

The VP of Construction Sales is responsible for the development and execution of T5 Construction sales and marketing functions. The VP will have deep industry knowledge and experience meeting the needs of customers, vendors, and employees.

  • Develop plans and strategies for achieving the company’s sales goals within Hyperscale, Developer/Investor, and Enterprise accounts.
  • Learn T5’s Construction business and become thoroughly knowledgeable about how T5 delivers full campus builds acting as a general contractor
  • Solicit new sales opportunities, generate and qualify leads, and source and develop client referrals
  • Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities
  • Define sales processes that drive desired sales outcomes and identify improvements where and when required
  • Work with T5 Construction team to accurately forecast resource tracking to match availability of construction team resources to new opportunities based on start date and project type
  • Develop sales proposals and unique solutions that align with customer needs
  • Prepare, present, and negotiate sales contracts
  • Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting in NetSuite
  • Maintain sales activity records and next step notes in NetSuite
  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions
  • Educate T5 Data Center’s sales team regarding T5 Construction services, case studies, and solutions
  • Create sales and marketing collateral as needed. Work with T5 Data Center’s marketing team as required
  • Determine which industry conferences to attend. Make presentations at conferences/speak on panels
  • Participate in sales events
  • Monitor competitors, market conditions and product development
  • Work with other T5 Data Center sales team members to accomplish some of the objectives above as directed by T5 management
  • Provide executive leadership to new customers, particularly during the onboarding/initial phases of new projects.
  • All other duties consistent with your role as you may be assigned by T5 management
  • Travel for this position is estimated at up to 60%

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, advanced degrees preferred
  • 10+ years management experience in mission critical data center environment(s), required
  • 10+ years personnel management experience, required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND COMPETENCIES

  • Exceptional verbal, presentation, and written communication skills required for interacting with internal employees, customers, prospects, and vendors
  • Exceptional analytical and decision-making skills required for understanding and evaluating complex problems, including analyzing a problem, identifying solutions, and selecting the best solution
  • Strong understanding of data center design and how it impacts SLA agreements
  • Financial acumen including the ability to create and understand budgets, financial analysis, and invoicing
  • Able to prioritize work based on business and customer demands
  • Able to articulate concepts and ideas to a non-technical audience
  • Able to lead customer-requested business reviews and audits
