Youth Programs Intern, Teenspace

As our first ever Youth Programs Intern (Teenspace), you will have the opportunity to have a direct impact on the biggest mental health initiative dedicated to teenagers in our history! 

Talkspace is headquartered in New York, NY, and this is a hybrid position (2-3 days a week) as we are prioritizing candidates to assist with our Teenspace Partnership.


What You'll Do


As part of our 2024 Early Careers Program, you will be part of a community that grows together! In partnership with the NYC Department of Health, Talkspace now provides free therapy for all teens (aged 13+) in New York City and we need someone just as passionate about our mission to help us address the unique challenges adolescents are facing today.


Projects
 

  • You will work directly with our Senior Director of Youth Programs to help with NYC Teenspace utilization (ensuring more teens know about this program and increasing the number of teens who register). 
  • You will co-facilitate in-person and virtual presentations to students/teens and school staff 
  • You will collaborate cross-functionally with multiple teams to drive marketing efforts across social media channels and our network of schools
  • Help plan and hold focus groups and info sessions, workshopping with teens across a variety of topics related to mental health
  • Help with the operation; outreach, mailing lists and scheduling across teams 



Internship Details:

  • Duration of Internship: June 3rd 2024 - August 19th 2024
  • Total of 2-3 projects with one of them serving as your graduation presentation
  • You will gain valuable (and paid!) professional experience, specific field related exposure and the ability to learn skills from collaborating with professionals
  • You will have a Talkspacer Mentor coming from this program - someone who helps keep track of your progress across 12 weeks


About You

  • Rising juniors and seniors in undergraduate degree, or enrolled in a graduate program
  • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive
  • Able to commit to working 20 hours per week during the summer 
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for being in the details, ensuring every document, project, or experience is on-point and on-brand
  • Strong communicator (verbal & written) with the ability to listen, articulate positions, advocate, and execute ideas 
  • Creative thinker who loves solving problems and works well in a team setting


Bonus Points

  • Experience with Google Suite and basic understanding of Excel/Google Sheets
  • Experience working with high school students or teens
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree (Licensed Clinician, Psychology, Public Health, Marketing or Communications)
  • If at masters level, interest in taking part in a small research project on the efficacy of Teenspace  
  • If you are a student from a BSW/MSW program, we can provide supervision for seminar training in field instruction

 Compensation 

At Talkspace, we believe that pay transparency during the interview process is a critical part of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our salary bands are based on internal and external compensation benchmarks, which we regularly evaluate to ensure we pay competitively.

The hourly compensation rate for the role will be $20/hr for those enrolled in an undergraduate degree program and up to $25/hr for those enrolled in a graduate degree program. Within the salary bands, leveling corresponds to each candidate’s relevant experience, skills as assessed during the interview process, education, and applicable certifications.
