As the Community Based Liaison (CBL), you'll be at the forefront of developing and implementing innovative strategies to strengthen partnerships with college access networks, school district leaders, community organizations, and Former Texas A&M University Student Networks within your assigned community. You'll lead dynamic admission, financial aid, and early outreach programs designed to identify, recruit, and enroll prospective students. Additionally, you'll serve as a vital resource and support for the Assistant Director, providing leadership in managing recruitment and program initiatives in your territory.

Salary: $4,180.17/monthly (Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire's experience)

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Five years’ experience in admissions, recruitment, advising, financial aid, or outreach
Preferred Qualifications:
A State of Texas class “C” vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
Ability to work well with community organizations and college access networks
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Ability to speak Spanish and English
Ability to develop and make presentations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be literate in the English language and able to comprehend and follow both written and verbal instructions
Knowledge of financial aid programs and federal regulations relating to student financial aid
Excellent oral and written communication skills with individuals and in a group setting
Ability to work well with students and parents
Ability to work as a team member in a dynamic organization, possessing a positive attitude and is customer-service oriented
Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment with good interpersonal communication skills
Must be self-motivated with the ability to coordinate and attend meetings and conferences at times beyond usual working hours
Responsibilities
Program Management:
Responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing effective programs for service assigned areas, to include the management of day-to-day activities
Oversee community outreach efforts, such as organizing events (campus visits, high school visits, and college fairs), partnerships with local community organizations, and workshops to promote and recruit prospective students and families
Organizes, implements, and reports on programs/projects, including marketing, accommodations, itineraries, meals, speakers, and records
Track and analyze program data to assess the effectiveness of programs along with ensuring that programs align with university policies and regulations
Leadership:
Coordinates and leads major office programs in the community and elevates visibility of Texas A&M University with local constituent groups
Serves as a mentor and assists in the training of regional advisors regarding admissions and financial aid rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, as well as how to develop and maintain relationships in high schools, community agencies, and community organizations
Develops, conducts, and coordinates training and staff development to include leading certain training sessions
Customer Service:
Interacts with high school students and their parents, district administration, and staff to provide and exchange information and to enhance the counseling and advisement of students considering/planning on attending Texas A&M University
Conducts presentations and works at resource tables as requested
Develops working relationships with university agencies, departments, counselors, and advisors to enhance customer service and satisfaction
Assists with developing and revising admissions and financial aid consumer information materials, publications, and brochures for currently enrolled students, prospective students, and their parents, as well as for college, department, and university use
Recruitment & Matriculation:
Identifies, recruits, and contributes to increasing the population of admitted and enrolled underrepresented students in designated high schools, which will include Century Scholar Schools within the assigned region
Uses professional judgment in advising and assisting students in solving their financial problems through scholarships, loans, grants, employment, and financial counseling; uses professional judgment in assisting to provide budgeting, money management, loans, and indebtedness counseling to students on an individual and group basis and makes presentations to groups regarding financial aid and scholarship programs
Works with the Financial Aid Office about awarding and adjusting financial aid awards as necessary to conform to federal, state, and institutional policies and regulations
