Sr. Database Administrator - job 1 of 2

We are currently looking for a Sr database engineer for a contract to hire role. This can sit 100% remote but needs to work EST hours.Looking for an Oracle/SQL Database Adminsitrator with Exadata and RAC clusters.Formal Description:- Design and create an efficient physical database model from a logical data model and application specifications. Translate the physical database design into the physical database implementation and manage the database once it has been implemented.- Monitor the database environment to provide consistent response times to the business systems using them. Suggest specific programming techniques and data access to application areas developing these subsystems. Make changes to data structures or the DBMS to optimize performance.- Troubleshoot and resolve database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, connectivity issues, security issues.- Understanding of the ETL process utilizing SSIS packages that are wrappers for stored procedures.- Provide database engineer assistance with the ability to troubleshoot SQL performance problems. Understand SQL Plans and Profiles to help tune database tables and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.- Manage database user administration and implementation of security rules.- Responsible for backup and recovery strategies using Rubrik.- Participate in disaster recovery tests.- Identify new opportunities to improve the efficiency of the data subsystems, reduce company costs, and improve existing processes therefore reducing effort or increasing productivity, including automation of tasks.- Provide general education and training, along with product support and diagnostic assistance with data access problems to applications development, computer operations, and production assurance utilizing DBMS and related integration tools.- Work on multi-platform, multi-DBMS environments including both on-prem and cloud-based. Continues to independently stay abreast of the latest database integration technology.- Create, document, and maintain diagrams of current environments.- Troubleshoot problem programs to obtain the most efficient data source connectivity and data access.- Request product upgrades from vendors. Install, test, and implement vendor products.- Participate in the Request for Proposal Process (RFP).- Track and analyze DISK growth based on application and data usage. Implement the necessary changes to accommodate the growth.- Create and maintain procedures related to the DBMS subsystems, related software products, and data movement between computing environments.- Plan, Coordinate and Implement PCI policies and procedures.- Respond to internal and external PWC audit requests quarterly and annually- Complete all assigned Change and Service Requests as well as resolve incidents assigned in iVanti ticketing system.- Participate in on-call escalation rotation for weekends and nights when needed.- Open support tickets on vendor portal and work with the vendor on issues.- Clearly communicate ideas and recommendations and can document processes and procedures for others to follow.Skills:Database administrator, Sql, Oracle, Sql server, Oracle database, Database management, SSSIS, Snowflake, MongoDBTop Skills Details:Database administrator,Sql,Oraclenice to haves Snwoflake and MongoDBExperience Level:Expert LevelAbout TEKsystems:We're partners in transformation.
