Temp-Senior Editor, Instruction (1 year contract)

THE IMPACT YOU’LL HAVE:

This position offers the opportunity to create new digital lessons that engage students with Algebra 1 content and drive learning gains.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as editorial lead on selected projects, overseeing the development of digital lessons from conceptualization to completion.
  • Understand and follow workflow and adhere to schedules and end dates, identifying possible project bottlenecks and offering solutions.
  • Support various planning, onboarding, prototyping, and brainstorming activities.
  • Review and edit digital math lessons, providing clear guidance to writers.
  • Make critical content decisions based on input from reviewers and stakeholders, adherence to guidelines and best practices, technical capabilities and constraints, appropriateness of content, accuracy, and Common Core Standards and Mathematical Practices. Clearly communicate these decisions to writers.
  • Collaborate with writers, editors, designers, and software engineers to produce high-quality educational content, including the conceptualization of digital interactions and animations that fit within project constraints.
  • Support writers in developing creative tasks and real-world contexts that provide an opportunity to a wide range of students to see themselves in the curriculum.
  • Participate in asset reviews.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 3+ years of experience editing secondary school math materials, including experience in Algebra 1.
  • Experience managing vendors, freelancers, and/or internal writers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, education, or a related field required.
  • Proven writing and editing skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively and cooperatively across multiple teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Common Core State Standards.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn new technology quickly. Familiarity with LaTeX is a plus!
  • Math teaching experience or experience developing digital products is a plus!

Benefits and Pay Range:
Pay Range – This role’s range is $40. - $50./hour. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that Curriculum Associates considers in making compensation decisions based on our Compensation Philosophy. Actual base pay within that range will vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, prior experience and relevant skill sets. At Curriculum Associates, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances for each case. The Company recognizes that minimum wage varies by location and will ensure all compensation decisions comply with applicable state and local laws.

Benefits – Temporary and per-diem employees who average at least 30 hours of work per week within the Company’s look-back period are eligible to enroll in medical coverage after 90 days of employment. Temporary and per-diem employees working more than 20 hours per week are eligible for twelve paid holidays. All temporary and per-diem employees are eligible for accrued sick time.
