Temporary Administrative Intern/Co-op

Job Summary
The Boston Children’s Hospital Radiology Department is looking for a highly motivated undergraduate student for a paid 8-10 week internship/co-op. The internship will focus on quality and process improvement in Radiology. The role will offer opportunities to learn process improvement methods, analytic methods, and project management. Ultimately, this work will lead to key strategic changes that improve patient care.

The Intern/Co-op will be responsible for:
  • Under direction, contributes to key design and functions within designated projects/initiatives:
    • Gathers project information: schedules, data requests, issue logs, project plans, communications, assignment task, and project meetings.
    • Works with project team to understand and assist with tracking all work, task and project assignments.
    • Monitors and modifies project schedule and key deliverables.
    • Maintains document control, database management, project tracking and contributes to team communications.
  • Contributes to project related deliverables, including process workflow diagrams, PowerPoint presentations, status reports, project plans/timelines.
  • Coordinates the day to day activities of the project, organizes and coordinates meeting, takes minutes, and maintains records systems
  • Completes basic analysis and data coordination for project support.
    • Contributes to quantitative and qualitative analyses to support the objectives of assigned projects and ensure completion of project objectives within agreed upon timeframes.
    • Provides data coordination and data entry services for improvement projects supported by the department.
    • Abstracts, organizes, and understands clinical and non-clinical data and information relevant to the assigned project.



To qualify, you must have:
  • Work requires a high school level of educational development.
  • Work requires the analytical skills and judgment to interpret data and take the appropriate action in circumstances or situations vary.
  • Work requires the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
