PURPOSE OF POSITION: An opportunity to help with event planning and execution. Temporary Event Assistants will receive training in hospitality, box office, administration, ushering, and assisting events.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To assist with the preparation of events.
- Show up on time and ready for scheduled event shifts.
- Assist the Event Services office with event preparation and on-site event coordination.
- Assignments include: ushering, box office, clerical, and hospitality.
- Events include but are not limited to: athletics, concerts, festivals, tournaments, performances, lectures, movies, weddings, receptions, camps, conferences, parties, etc.
- Complete clerical duties including but not limited to: data entry, phone calls, mailings, daily tasks, organizing documents, preparing signage, etc.
- Uphold University policies and procedures.
- Enforce policies specific to various events and/or venues.
- On site event duties include, but not limited to: greet guests, sell and scan tickets, distribute programs, locate seat assignments, answer questions, and provide directions to various venues.
- Be proactive in assisting guests and answering questions.
- Trained and prepared in event of an emergency including, but not limited to crowd control and emergency plan
- Other duties as assigned.

This is an hourly position. Hours and days will vary depending on event needs.
