Should incumbents work more than a total of 999 hours in a year the appointment may not continue beyond one year of service.

Seeking to hire several individuals to assist the University's mail services department from August - October. In anticipation of a high volume of student packages, clerks will assist with receiving, sorting, and delivering packages and US Mail. May be required to use an electronic tracking system or other postal related duties.

Professional Experience/Qualifications

• Ability to provide excellent customer service.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment is essential.
• Ability to work collegially and effectively with a diverse group of constituents including students, faculty, staff, parents, and alumni.
• Ability to use email and learn basic mail sorting software.
• Ability, in some cases, to work weekends and evenings.
• Must have the ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time, climb stairs and work in inclement weather conditions.

• Requires a current valid drivers license, in accordance with the Universitys Driver Safety and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.

The Campus Safety Department will provide upon request a copy of Colgates Annual Security and Fire Safety Report. This report includes statistics as reported to the United States Department of Education for the previous three years concerning reported: 1. crimes that occurred on-campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Colgate University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus and 2. fires that occurred in student housing facilities. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security and fire safety, such as policies concerning sexual assault, life safety systems, and other related matters.
