Job Description

This job requires to be based in/close to Kraków. We currently work in a hybrid model and meet in our office 3 days a week.

This is a key and exciting role that puts you at the heart of our business helping to ensure all of our customers pay the right price, every time and everywhere they shop with us. We price up to eight million baskets a day, so this role is vital to building price trust with our customers.

The Product Manager for Price Integrity is responsible for managing the product vision, strategy and development of one of Tesco’s core technology services, which is a vital component that enables customers to have complete trust in Tesco prices. This includes visualisation of large data sets for Engineering, Product and senior stakeholders.

Price Integrity is a new domain within Tesco’s Retail Platform, and so there is a lot of room to influence the outcomes and long-term strategy in this area.You will also work closely with our Location domain, central to almost every technology-oriented journey that Tesco has, reporting into the Lead Product Manager for that domain.

Whilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of the Tesco business, the following provides an overview of the role’s key responsibilities and measures;

  • Execute on and evolve the product strategy for Price Integrity by working with colleagues in Engineering, as well as the Head of Product and Directors of Product and Engineering.  
  • Act as the Product Manager and work directly with the development team and other stakeholders to break down complex pieces of work into manageable slices of value with the aim to deliver as frequently as possible.  
  • Navigate and manage conflicting priorities well, communicate clearly and understand how to drive a high level of focus and excellence in all those around you.
  • Deliver simple, well described, prioritised stories to your development team whilst ensuring context of the works importance is shared and the value it delivers is clear.
  • Relentlessly measure and communicate value created to all stakeholders, all the time.
  • Work with delivery colleagues to plan work that unlocks value for Tesco and our customers.
  • Work closely with your products’ customers, analytics teams and business stakeholders to understand the issues they face, lead discovery work to define minimum viable products (MVP) and minimum product fit for each new feature.

Qualifications

You will need:

  •  At least 3 years of experience in managing products in an Agile environment 
  • Good prioritization techniques to make difficult trade-off decisions and refine your backlog.
  • Knowledge and experience of current software development methodologies and processes. 
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies, writing effective user stories/ acceptance criteria.
  • Numerate and confident handling high volumes of data.
  • Able to focus on more than one domain at any given time.
  • Back-end, platform or API Product Management experience.
  • Experience of User Research/Design Thinking concepts and applied those for your product work.
  • Knowledge of tools used in the environment, such as Miro, Confluence, Aha!

Personal:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to explain complex things to a non-technical audience.
  • A methodical/ analytical approach and great problem-solving skills.
  • Empathy and good listening skills to understand the needs/ pain points of your customers/ stakeholders.

Additional Information

Salary:

UoP 18 000 - 23 000 PLN gross/month

B2B 19 000 - 26 000 PLN net/month
