Test Engineer

Responsibilities:

The Test Engineer will assist in executing manual and automated test procedures, creating test procedures, supporting requirements analysis to resolve program intent, development of test case content, reviewing test plan and procedures, and participating in Test Readiness Reviews. In addition, you will be expected to develop software tools for the automation of testing and the enhancement of data analysis.


What you'll do:

  • Able to perform comprehensive testing in AWS environments.
  • Work with technical teams on system requirements and specifications to ensure that requirements are testable and complete.
  • Responsible for developing Test plans and test scenarios. Responsible for managing defects via Jira or other tools. Maintenance of automated regression testing.
  • Experience with testing tools including: unit testing; load testing; browser testing; and, cloud-based (AWS) performance testing).
  • Develops automated test scripts to validate functional, technical, and performance requirements.
  • Executes test scripts during internal system testing.
  • Documents test issues and works with development team to validate/recreate.
  • Provide operational testing support including performance testing support and provide recommendations for performance enhancement.
  • Develops both manual and automated test scripts to validate functional, technical, and performance requirements.

  • Performs retesting and regression testing.
  • Documents test results for incorporation into the Requirements Traceability and Verification Matrix.
  • Develop and implement program test plans, quality assurance plans, programs, and procedures using the testing tools.
  • Oversees tests to ensure that performance and quality products conform to established policy and standards.
  • Develops test reports.
  • Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to software and systems engineering.
  • Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies.
  • Ability to interface with program teams to ensure requirements are met.
  • Recommend corrective actions, dispositions and modifications.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years experience; Masters and 3 years experience; PhD with 0-2 years experience or High School and 9+ years of experience in lieu of degree
  • 3+ years of experience in manual testing.
  • Experience in both regression and integration testing.
  • Experience creating test scripts for Angular applications.
  • Must have experience developing test scripts.
  • Experience with collaboration and tracking tools, such as: Microsoft Visio, JIRA or Confluence
  • Experience with JavaScript based testing frameworks.
  • Exposure to testing concepts, framework & best practices from industry for web applications.
  • Excellent knowledge in designing & implement customized test frameworks as needed.
  • Must have knowledge and experience working with and supporting the development of an overall test plan and tailored test plans for each release.
  • Responsible for preparing comprehensive reports on testing progress/issues and remedial action.
  • Must have a familiarity with writing database scripts for backend validation.
  • Strong written & verbal communication.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
