To learn more about IT at Texas A&M University visit us at: https://it.tamu.edu/ What we... want We are seeking an Entry-Level End User Support Specialist to join our team in supporting the College of Medicine, College of Nursing, and the Clinical Learning Resource Center. This position is an onsite role in Bryan, Texas at our Health Science Center. As an End User Support Specialist, under general supervision, you will perform routine end user support functions. You will also provide technical support by answering questions and providing consultation to our campus faculty, researchers, administrative staff, and students. As you grow within your role, you will have the opportunity to provide our customers with advanced troubleshooting, serving as an escalation point for complex problems, and serving as an advisor to management for systemic technical issues and continual service improvement. What you need to know Salary: Commensurate based on selected candidate's education and experience Schedule: This role may also require you to provide on-call at night and weekends support as needed. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience AND four months (1 semester) of student worker and/or customer service experience. Working knowledge of troubleshooting software, excellent customer service skills, and ability to be productive working independently or in a collaborative team environment. Strong interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer or information systems management. Intermediate software troubleshooting and hardware repair experience across both PC and Mac platforms. Intermediate Windows 10 and MacOS 10.14+ troubleshooting skills. Advanced HP and Xerox Printer hardware and software experience. Working knowledge of IT Endpoint Security practices. Responsibilities: Workstation Support: Installs, configures, maintains, and upgrades, workstation hardware and software for Windows, Mac and Mobile devices. Provides training and supervision to departmental student workers on these procedures. Investigates, troubleshoots, and resolves workstation and network issues. Recommends upgrades for workstations as necessary. Recommends specifications for workstation and/or peripheral or hardware purchases. Monitors and maintains system security. Incident Management & Documentation: Provides centralized support for computer needs, both on campus and regional locations supported by the department. Researches, recommends, and resolves a wide range of technical and procedural problems for customers. Provides estimates and progress reports. Works with departmental staff to understand and outline goals and objectives for departmental technology needs. Makes recommendations to create efficiency and enhance operations of the department. Ensures work is accurate and in compliance with department or project quality standards. Departmental Support: Assists management in planning, directing, and coordinating operational and/or procedural matters to meet goals and objectives of the department. Engage campus members in a professional and friendly manner. Promote IT initiatives and establish partnerships within the campus IT community Training: Attends training and professional development sessions as needed. Provide periodic one-on-one or large group training to faculty, staff and students on a variety of IT related tools or topics; as appropriate. Why Texas A&M University?
