We write in a manner that’s equal parts engaging and insightful, with a mission to be a “must read” for global business leaders looking to stay sharp on important trends.Role OverviewJob Title: Copy Editor (Contract)Location: Anywhere, West Coast USA preferredAbout the Role:We are looking for a Copy Editor who wants to play a major role in the fast-growing media startup. You’ll be responsible for copy editing, fact checking, CMS management, and other editorial services. You’ll work closely with our content team to perform these services. This is a part time contract position.Responsibilities:• Utilize your expertise and creative talents in performing stellar copy editing services.• Review articles written for our newsletters to improve quality and readability.• Ensure reviewed text is free of grammatical and spelling errors and make sure writing style aligns with our brand.• Exercise a high degree of professionalism when interacting with the team.• Fact checking for accuracy.• Assist with the upload process to prepare the materials for publication.Requirements:• Minimum of 2 years copy editing experience.• Financial services editing experience preferred but not required.• Must be available Sunday through Friday in the late afternoon to keep the current publication schedule.• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.• Must be creative, strategic, and have a growth mindset.• A passion for the media space, especially digital and newsletter space, and excitement to represent The Daily Upside and our mission to make business and finance news fun and accessible!Benefits:• Competitive hourly pay.
