Job Summary:
The IMA Group is seeking a skilled, dedicated, and an independent Optometrist or Ophthalmologist to work in their own office performing NYS disability exams. Our ideal candidate will conduct eye exams and prepare a report that will be used as part of the process to evaluate the disabled individual’s application for Social Security benefits.
Compensation is $70 per evaluation (up to 4 per hour).
Responsibilities:
- Medical Evaluations: Perform in-depth eye examinations, including conducting visual acuity, visual field, automated perimetry, and other necessary tests, for individuals applying for state disability benefits.
- Diagnostic Interpretation: Analyze and interpret diagnostic tests and medical data.
- Report: Create a comprehensive medical report including accurate and complete descriptions of the applicant’s condition(s).
- Data Submission: Utilize our user-friendly report generation platform to submit your report quickly and easily.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD), Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Board certification is a plus.
- Experience in a medical office setting or private practice is preferred.
- Detail-oriented and proficient in generating accurate medical reports.
