Software Engineer Full Stack

The New York Times is looking for a full stack developer to join the Messaging UI team within the Messaging Platforms group. The role involves contributing to extending CMS and administrative consoles, collaborating with a diverse team, and maintaining multiple messaging platforms.

Skills

  • Proficiency in back-end languages (Go preferred) and SQL
  • Experience with modern frontend web fundamentals
  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks like React
  • Experience with JS build tooling
  • Experience building, operating, and monitoring web systems in GCP or AWS

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the full development lifecycle of products
  • Work within a collaborative team to design and build front-end capabilities
  • Participate in modernizing and expanding front-end tools
  • Develop REST APIs inside a Go codebase
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams across the organization
  • Maintain code quality through tests and analysis
  • Contribute to reaching 17+ million subscribers by 2027
