About The RoleAs the Sr. Manager of Merchandising Analytics at the RealReal, will lead the Pricing Analytics and Copy Operations team. You will be a thought leader that has the opportunity to shape and expand our reporting suite while overseeing our day-to-day analytics and pricing test capabilities. Your proficiency with BI software and visualizations (e.g. Looker), expertise with data manipulation (e.g. SQL), and strong data-driven decisionmaking will empower well-informed decisions across our entire merchandising organization. Your strong storytelling and communication will clearly articulate the methodology as well as the opportunity with a focus on driving maximum revenue without sacrificing a positive client experience. You will own A/B test reporting and be on the forefront, working closely with our data science teams to further improve our pricing inputs and algorithms. In this role, you will report directly to the Senior Director of Pricing with two direct reports, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.What you get to do everyday• Collaborate and strategize with stakeholders (Pricing, Planning, Merchandising, Data Science, etc) to understand the data needs and help to translate in to meaningful datasets or visualizations• Owns Merchandising testing roadmap and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) inputs; partner regularly with Data Science and Eng teams to prioritize projects and understand dependencies in order to communicate with stakeholders• Drive testing readouts (A/B & Pre/Post) in conjunction with merch team business owners; proactively evaluate strategies and provide recommendations based on data-led insights• Surface testing KPIs/OKRs and provide creative data-driven solutions for more abstract or qualitative measures; clearly articulate results and recommendations appropriately to a broad audience• Perform ad hoc analyses and recommend courses of action to drive sales, improve efficiency and protect the consignor experience• Evaluate and create processes and tools in support of continuous improvement efforts• Create a Merchandising team environment centered around collaboration, openness and learning; help oversee their development as well as provide guidance and training to team members on best practices• Be a positive role model for the team by fostering strong cross-functional relationships with key business partners (Merch, Planning, Copy Review, BSA, Data Science, CR/CS, etc)• Promote growth & development for your direct report(s) through coaching, training & ongoing performance managementMinimum Job Requirements:• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience• 5+ years of proven success with data manipulation (can join/merge data sets with complex relationships) and visualizations (ideally Looker), including building tables and dashboards• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with G Suite and building Gsheets• Knowledge of statistics and data science• Proven experience in retail or with retail math• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate data-driven insights to non-technical audiences• Team player who is able to work effectively and collaboratively across multiple departments• Exceptional time-management and organizational skills• Comfortable managing ambiguity, navigating organizational complexities and being flexible to respond to changing needs and priorities while supporting a direct report• 3+ years leading and developing a team on AnalystsPreferred Job Requirements:• 4+ years experience working with data engineering/data science teams is a plus• 2+ years experience working with site data/metrics is a plusCompensation, Benefits, + Perks• Employee Stock Purchase Plan• 401K with Company Match• Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance• Paid Parental Leave• Unlimited Discretionary Time Off (DTO)* and 10 Paid Company Holidays• * Unlimited DTO with Manager approvalThe expected salary range for this role is $134,558.00-$150,000.00. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Additionally, salary is just one component of TRR’s total rewards package.
