We’re the San Francisco Compute Company. We’re building the first real-time compute trading platform. We think that over the next decade, thousands of startups and labs are going to be training and serving large models. They need compute to do this, and we’re building a platform on which that compute can be traded. If we’re successful, it will be possible to scale to tens of thousands of accelerators for hours at a time without having to build your own infrastructure. This will greatly increase the number of organizations that can afford to train large models, which will make the most important technology of our lifetime accessible to more people.
We’re looking for an Office Manager to join our fast-growing, dynamic team. This role is ideal for an organized, proactive individual who's early in their career and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You'll be the driving force behind our San Francisco office's daily operations, ensuring everything runs like clockwork while also providing vital support to our Chief of Staff, facilitating their work with executives and enhancing overall organizational efficiency. If you're ready to roll up your sleeves, anticipate needs before they arise, and enjoy being both a problem-solver and culture-builder, this is the role for you!
Own the Office: Keep the office running like a well-oiled machine by managing supplies, vendor relationships, and facilities.
Be a Trusted Partner: Manage schedules, meetings, and deadlines with precision to keep our executives focused on what matters most.
Coordinate Travel: Handle complex travel arrangements—domestic and international—while ensuring every detail is perfect.
Bring the Team Together: Coordinate team events, celebrations, and memorable off-sites to foster connection and fun.
Organize for Success: Arrange files, receipts, expense reports, and mail with precision, ensuring smooth operations and financial accuracy.
Create an Inviting Space: Be the friendly face welcoming guests, vendors, and new team members.
Support New Hires: Manage onboarding to ensure every new employee feels welcome and ready to thrive.
Build Connections: Facilitate communication and alignment across teams to keep everyone moving forward.
We’re seeking someone who is naturally organized, resourceful, and thrives on solving challenges. An ideal candidate will bring:
0-2 years of experience in a related role (we welcome fast learners and career starters eager to grow!).
Proficiency in Google Suite, especially Google Calendar, for efficient scheduling and document management.
A detail-oriented mindset with the ability to juggle competing priorities.
Strong interpersonal skills—you'll work closely with everyone from executives to vendors.
Proactive problem-solving: You're always two steps ahead, anticipating needs and seizing opportunities to add value.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage information flow effectively.
Interested in Generative AI and its potential to solve real-world challenges.
Experience in tech or startups is a bonus, but not required. We're happy to interview new grads!
You can buy as many books for the office as you want. You’re encouraged to spend time during the workday reading!
